TerrAmore's Nero D'Avola, the black of Avola, is a result of joint venture by Feudo San Martino and Nerida Abbott. This red Sicilian wine is produced at the Feudo San Martino farm, located near the City of Caltanissetta, on the south side of the mount Gesso, in the Salso river valley. The wine is fermented in steel for 3 weeks and aged 70% in steel and 30% in French, Austrian and American oak 225 liters barriques for 12 months. Not a vino da tavola, which is made by the winemaker as he sees fit, this wine belongs to Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) category. The wine is served at 68 °F and pairs well with pasta with red tomato and meat sauce, wild fowls, grilled and roasted meats.
